Where all low-level quest rewards go: More booze.

You actually pay the hookers? We had our paladin barge in and threaten to arrest the hooker and cart her off to a certain well known, extremely sexually repressive, restrictive religious order, basically a prison, dressed up as rehabilitation, teaching her to be a "pure, respectable child of the faith".

Of course, that's where they send murderers, rapists, and other criminals deemed impossible to reform. It has a reputation.

Get the goods, covertly signal the paladin as she's getting ready for round two. Paladin threatens both of you, and after begging and pleading, he just "arrests" you instead, and lets her off with a warning.

Can you believe one of the guys did this three times before the paladin figured out what was going on? In character, that is.

ale 1cp/cup => 3cp per round of drinking contest assuming a +3 con modifier for the participants and a DC0 check for the first round, there is a 0% chance to drop out of the contest for the first 3 rounds followed by a 5% chance that increases by 5% each round. Statisticaly, Half the combatants should have passed out by the 5th round and there should have been a clear winner by the 7th barring some very strange dice rolls. This drinking contest should have cost no more than 3 silver even if it somehow made it to the 10th round without someone passing out. (whose odds are on the order of 3.5 x 10^-5)

Or, alternatively, the barman started adding extra empty mugs to the group when he brings them the next round, and just tells them they drank 150 gp of ale.
