Cave bears live in caves.
As this is a sprite comic, I totally saw Sigma from the "Mega Man X" series. The weird part is as I typed this up, I realized that I was visualizing the wrong one. I was thinking all "Mega Man X" (first game) Sigma with his Beam Saber. Some of his later forms would probably be better for a wizard (namely the ones where he's skulking around in a robe) and given how the DM is presented, the Reaper version from X4 also would seem oddly appropriate. XD
