Absolutely nothing in there *forcing* you to make your first level class your favored one. Sounds like you have some more class combinations to enjoy now. :)
Also, with a few feats, and the right gear, you can get an effective range of 500 yards at level 15. This officially makes you able to snipe out a beholder's eyes before it can even get in range.
That beholder was supposed to be a miniboss. I soloed it with a bow, and a barstool. I would have used my swords, but they were literally in the shop. The party mage was enchanting them.
Vaporizing a daemon in one round before it or anyone else got a turn was pretty good too.
