I'd expect a more elaborate swing for a coup de grace. She may still be alive, or at least in criticals, so she may yet live.

Coup de grace requires a helpless target and full visibility. But is really just like, a stab, or slitting their throat, or bashing their head in. It takes a full round because you're aiming carefully to ensure you hit the vital bits.
