I like the turnabout with AoOs to finish the encounter, but I can't help but think that there could have been fun with the GM Scratching that encounter and it never happened[You know, like what happens when you reach a 2 on the Henderson scale and the GM doesn't give up]. Because you know, breaking the 4th wall is fun, and so is screwing with the readers.

Nah, this DM is clearly evil... besides, if I've read the storyline right, he's basically toying with the characters and seeing how long it will take to kill them off (the whole thing at the beginning with the 'real' GM being taken over by some entity after signing a contract in blood (with a papercut)). There'd be no reason for that guy to scratch things and pretend they never happened unless he had some personal reason. That said, yes, it would be fun.
