You kidding? A 30,000 GP handout would have me running as far away as fast as possible. I mean, they're embarking on an adventure where such a fiscal investment is involved and a first level is hoping to SURVIVE that?

Its a torch, not a weapon or armor or something... That might throw me off...

I checked the math because I could have sworn Everburning Daylight Torches would be cheaper... and actually there's a 1.5 multiplier (in d&d 3.5, couldn't find Pathfinder's magic item creation rules easily) so it would be 45,000.
As opposed to an everburning torch, which costs... Exactly what one would expect, the cost of casting Continual Flame + hiring a spellcaster to cast it.
Presumably someone could create a better version of Continual Flame, because that would be a lot cheaper than crafting a permanent daylight spell by the crafting rules (which are understandably much too general).
