I'm with Baloney here. It would be one thing if, say, she cast sleep without realizing she should have had deep slumber. But multiple actions have happened since then. 'Rewinding' simply wouldn't work. You'd be starting the fight all over again.

I also believe that Baloney made the correct call here for the same reason that Snowtwo mentioned. Even in situations where a GM mistakenly uses a rule incorrectly, I would rather they acknowledge they fucked-up and continue, instead of rewinding and replaying the scenario.

The problem I'd have with doing a retcon in this situation is that it's annoying to the players. DMs are allowed to cheat for the purpose of making the game more interesting and fun (covertly adding extra hitpoints to a boss that's dying too easy, for example). That's the entire point of rule zero. But redoing the NPCs' actions to be more optimal mid-combat pulls the players out of the excitement and feels downright cheap. Especially when what happened was a strategic misstep, not a rules one.
