Let me tell you a little story about a mismatched encounter in a gurps superhero game a couple weeks ago. I had my powerset inside a sealed envelope, and we were facing down a nest of vampires. Even the GM didn't know what my powerset was, but I assured him I'd be able to keep up with the group. He had previously said I had a reputation, and that I was welcome to make something insane, as long as it was not completely broken. So I showed up to the the session with a sealed manilla envelope, and my character sheet, which just said his class was eating champion.

So, vampires. I approach the nearest low level vampire, and proceed to knock him unconscious. And then it begins. My character unhinges his jaw, and begins to pull the vampire in. The vampires are as shocked and stunned as my team. I describe in detail how I swallow the poor bastard whole, horking him down like an owl. Then my character turns pale, grows claws, and grins a fangy grin. I charge at the head of the vampire nest, and a moment before we clash, I forcefully regurgitate the lesser vampire at him. Head vakpire is down for the count, so I eat him instead.

I then proceed to, with the team backing me up, act as a front line fighter, slaughtering vampires. After the encounter, I was asked to unseal the envelope so they could figure out what had just happened.

My class was eating champion. I swallow things, and their template and half their class levels get added to my own.

Kirby. I was playing Kirby in a gurps superhero game. A new rule was instated for me.

I may no longer play any character that makes another player physically ill.

The thing about kirby is he's merely a pink void... that makes things a lot better.

It wasn't super broken, but that's the kind of power you need to plan around.
