He who fights and runs away, lives to flatten others beneath their bulk another day...or actually fight, if that’s their thing.

And thus the dragon proves much more intelligent then most bosses in my campaigns and my players. Mostly because haveing a dragon fight you then bitch out when it starts loseing leaves a sour taste in everyone’s mouths.

teleporting nemiseses are a pain in the...

they are obviusly casters. meaning they will scry you, at night. and warpstrike in under full buff, gett in a few heavy hits, maybe take on of you out, then fuck off. lots or enervate and ability damage/drain that takes up very specific reasorces, not just a converted cure wounds spell, just to set you up for when he really fucks you over.

stupid dm being vengeful for us warpstriking his bosses in that exact way....

Oh Red dragons no longer get cleric spells in Pathfinder... that ruins the "Harm on self + comes back in two rounds" combo

The dragon didn't actually teleport away, he just shouted teleport and made a hide check.

Glitterdust makes hides at a -40, which means he's quite visible unless he can dispel that (which he probably can)

When did someone cast glitterdust?

Nevermind, it was invisibility purge... Still, if for some reason the gems allowed the dragons to "hide" behind random people around him and he had maxed stealth... his modifier wouldn't be better than maybe a 10.

You'd thing bosses and GM's would figure this out but nooo... ALWAYS HAVE THREE BACK-UP ESCAPE ROUTES PLANNED! You're first one the PC's will almost certainly foul up and the second will likely be undone by something stupid and humiliating; but the third will either work... or confirm that the universe hates you.

Also, I'm surprised that they did so well. No deaths (as best we can tell) and so-forth. I bet Fowle's fuming.

Doesn't casting teleport provoke attacks of opportunity?

It can cast defensively. Assuming it's the smallest gargantuan size (Old red dragon) and not a colossal dragon, it still has a +25 to concentration- which means it will always succeed to cast teleport defensively (It's DC 15 + 5*2=25).
Even if someone had the feat Disruptive (not terribly likely, but it increases the concentration DC by 4) they have an 85% chance of success at minimum numbers. The dragon might be older than just old, or have combat casting, in which case it would succeed automatically even if someone had Disruptive.
