Ah, the classic trading chain. Isn't that just the best part of any game? I especially like it when the item takes up valuable space and/or weight in your carrying capacity, and you can't throw it away or sell it, or put it in a drawer.

or you can throw it away or sell it or put it in a drawer only to find out it was the one of a kind special ingredient needed to make the end game uber weapon (curse you Star ocean 2)

Heh, in one of the early quests in TMW we have an "Iten" (so named because of brazilian players begging "iten plz" (there's also a spell named #itenplz which makes all monsters attack you (didn't end up a joke because good aggro control is essential))) which weighs about half as much as you can carry. And if you go over half your weight, you lose your ability to heal naturally ...

In the early game when potions aren't cheap, losing the ability to heal over time hurts. Luckily, you only have to carry that item from one end of the labyrinth to the center ...

I call BS, as "item" in portuguese is "item", not "iten".

"FedEx Quests"
I was especially frustrated to learn that losing the Lyrium Ore I was smuggling in Dragon Age autofailed the no-time-limit quest to deliver it, so after I scraped together enough gold to buy it back at marked up price from the merchant I'd sold it to by mistake and delivered it, I found the quest was uncompletable and my gold was wasted. That's when I decided to stop playing RPGs on consoles in favor of PCs' access to the modding community.
