"Meteor Knight"
Something tells me that that paladin lives by the technicality. (Hi everyone!)

Fighter vs. paladin, both good, huh? Something tells me this'll be relatively decisive.
Guest 20th Nov 2014, 6:32 AM edit delete reply

Except that they're both fighters

Ah, you are correct. I was mixing up the classes of the leader and the fighter. Phaedrus still has an advantage based on range, although his lost hitpoints offset that a bit.
Raxon 20th Nov 2014, 1:05 AM edit delete reply
Raxon
Isn't Phaedrus chaotic or neutral good? I root for the fighter on principle this time.

Besides, Phaedrus has a minor advantage. More feats, and a better range.
Allan Mills 20th Nov 2014, 5:53 PM edit delete reply

Assuming the paladin is also level 3, he also has the advantage of being able to heal his own wounds via lay on hands.

But it looks like it's Fighter VS Fighter - Phaedrus and Gaius. Phaedrus' reach is offset by his missing hitpoints, while his lingering buffs from Eli & Zero should give him an edge to overcome the AC Gaius' shield gives him - but unless things changed in Pathfinder, Gaius just needs to close to one square away to deny Phaedrus room to swing his longspear, imposing a to-hit penalty that could be crippling.
Inbetweenaction 21st Nov 2014, 3:22 AM edit delete reply

5ft step negates that.
Fellow 21st Nov 2014, 8:21 AM edit delete reply

Huh? When did Pheadrus lose hitpoints?

Who brought Guest Guest along?

With so much drama preceeding it, the duel will have a hard time not to be one giant fumble streak.
Guest 20th Nov 2014, 1:28 PM edit delete reply

paladdins gonna win cuz he got din dins
guy 20th Nov 2014, 6:05 PM edit delete reply

dude. You are not good at this trolling thing. It's almost funny how bad you are at it, actually.
guy 20th Nov 2014, 6:10 PM edit delete reply

sorry. Supposed to be a reply to guest.
LostDeviljho 20th Nov 2014, 3:14 PM edit delete reply

I actually feel sorry for the paladin.

I think Pally's are a bad class.
The Chessmaster 20th Nov 2014, 4:18 PM edit delete reply
The Chessmaster
Well, they're actually decent if you run them right. They're theoretically the most powerful real tank class, because of how overpowered Diplomacy is, but they have nothing on druids, nor on the bluff-centric classes (especially bards).

Moot point anyway because this guy's not a paladin, but I just thought I'd put that out there.
guy 20th Nov 2014, 6:08 PM edit delete reply

Pallys, like thieves, are all in how you play them. Both are classes that lend themselves to use by bad role-players and underhanded people, but are fine on their own.
On the other hand, if you mean they are unbalanced to be weak, then I can't argue, because having never really played anything but fourth ed, I know nothing.

I actually really enjoy the PF Paladin, but not the 3.5 Paladin when it comes to having a meat shield that will outlast a fighter. They got a definite upgrade in PF. Swift-Action Lay on Hands on themselves means consistent self-heals while performing other actions in combat.
Fellow 20th Nov 2014, 3:47 PM edit delete reply

Guys, Ryo is the guy who's comfirmed to be a paladin. Gaius could've multiclassed into wizard for all we know.
Ilmaros 20th Nov 2014, 3:54 PM edit delete reply

You know, if that was the case, and provided Gaius knew what he was doing, Phaedrus could be really screwed in a one on one... But then, there's almost no gish out there who actually knows what he's doing...
Fellow 20th Nov 2014, 5:34 PM edit delete reply

While the premise would certainly be amusing, wouldn't his equipment give him like, 1/2 chance of failing most spells?

Then again, we haven't had a tutorial on THAT.

Judging by his large shield and apparently heavier-than-Phaedrus' armor, I suspect a more in-depth tutorial on AC is coming up, likely with a side of penalties on reach weapons within their effective range.
