2950 foot long landbridge on which they'll be crossing at 15 feet a round if they don't want to risk falling from difficult terrain, which means a MINIMUM of 130 rounds before they reach your bow range, shooting, with your 9 archers shooting 18 arrows per round thats 2340 wasted shots before there is even a 5% chance of hitting.

There's always the odd Nat-20.

That's the 5% chance. However, you can't hit outside max range, even with a natural 20.
