This is one of those GMs that sets out for the sole purpose of slaughtering characters, isn't it?
I thought he was just a hardcore GM that liked putting players through the wringer. Now I'm sad. Like, I thought he'd be appreciative in the end when they complete the dungeon. I am also distressed that he calls genuinely good teamwork BS.

He's such a good villain.

I was also thinking that his reasons were to prepare them for the last Dungeon. But now it seem more he want to prove that his gming is the only way.

Now the cleric, fighter, and ranger get their AoOs, and can bring that HP lost down even further.

Check again. Zero and Kari's weapons might look big, but they're still technically not reach weapons. Also, the wraiths near Phaedrus only moved five feet.
