If you're going ranger, Boon companion is one of the best feats you can take once you have an animal companion. I usually RP getting an injured or young creature that recovers/grows between 4 and 5. Then boon companion and boom, suddenly my out of combat utility class feature can now rock it with the party.

If I gear him up, at least.

A pet Roc as a mount is really good for a ranged char...

Rocs are magical creatures, iirc, not animals, so without feats can't be animal companions.

Thanks, but I'm trying to stick to sprites that are either under General Public License or Public Domain. That's why most of the sprites used so far are from OpenGameArt.org
